Alan and Muireann left gasping for air on Ireland AM over star guest's raunchy stories

Australian author Kathy Lette had Alan Hughes and Muireann O' Connell in fits of laughter with her raunchy stories on Ireland AM.

The author, best known for her book 'Puberty Blues' which she wrote when she was 17, didn’t hold back when it came to sharing stories on morning television.

Kathy started by telling Alan and Muireann that the boys she grew up with "disproves the theory of evolution, they were evolving into apes".

She then goes on to say, "as an example of how sexist they were they used to get us to cut their names out on paper and sticky tape them to our stomachs and sun bake!".

"So we'd get a tan tattoo in the shape of their name, so if ever I get cancer I will have a melanoma called Bruce. I'll have to have like a Bruce-ectomy to get rid of it!".

Kathy's hilarious story-telling didn't stop there.

She continued having the Ireland AM presenter in heaps of laughter when she went on to say: "they were also the sort of guys who thought sex-drive meant doing it in the car. I don't know what Irish men were like, I won't ask you Muireann where you lost your virginity but we were all in the back of the car.

"I worked out why Alan, you know that sign in the rear vision mission that says 'objects in this mirror may appear larger than they are?'".

Kathy's book was made into a popular tv series in 2014 where Kathy hinted at sexism back in Australia in the 1970's where she said "women were nothing more than a life support system to a pair of breasts".

She went on to say "these guys were gorgeous looking but they kept fit by doing step aerobics off their own egos. For example when you were in bed with one of these guys and he reached his moment of pleasure he would call out his own name!".

"They had love bites on their mirrors!".

This story had the Alan and Muireann in fits of laughter but the story-telling didn't stop there.

Kathy goes on to say: "There's things I regret not doing. I was working on a show in LA....and we cast this unknown actor called George Clooney and he asked me out and I said 'No! I'm a writer I don't go out with actors. You put other people's words in your mouth and you don't know where they've been!".
