Lincoln settle for dramatic League One draw at Bolton

Lincoln had to settle for a dramatic 1-1 League One draw with relieved Bolton at Toughsheet Community Stadium.

Freddie Draper’s goal after just 19 seconds took the Imps to the verge of a third-successive league win.

But in the seventh minute of second-half stoppage-time, Tom Hamer slid the ball into his own net as he attempted to clear Amario Cozier-Duberry’s shot as the hosts recorded a third-consecutive 1-1 draw.

Bolton created 17 shots and won 13 corners but needed Hamer’s misfortune to spare their blushes.

Wanderers were certainly stunned when Draper headed in Reeco Hackett’s cross for his third goal of the season.

Lincoln were then indebted to goalkeeper George Wickens for keeping them in front.

Half-time substitute Aaron Morley struck the crossbar and Cozier-Duberry saw a goal disallowed for handball.

Otherwise, it was Wickens to the rescue for the Imps, twice denying Wales international Josh Sheehan as well as Mason Burstow and Joel Randall as the home side pressed.

But when all looked lost for the Trotters, Hamer put through his own net trying to clear off the line.
