Ian Holloway said his Swindon side put on the best display of any of his teams for a decade and a half as they won 4-0 to dump League One high-flyers Bolton out of the FA Cup.
Aaron Drinan capped his hat-trick with a wonderful 30-yard lob to seal the rout.
Holloway said: “The last goal was just completely insane. How he managed to get that in there – I was watching and I don’t even know how he did it.
“Have I seen as good a performance as that from any of my teams that I’ve had over the last 14, 15, 16, years? I don’t think so.
“I’m very proud of the club, we’ve had a fantastic week. Everybody played really well, that’s what I want to see.
“We caused them problems and we could have had more because of our pressing alone. To get that level from everybody is really unusual.
“Drinan has stole the man-of-the-match with the hat-trick. What a wonderful, wonderful day from Swindon Town.”
Drinan slotted from the spot in the eighth minute after Chris Forino handled.
Town went two-up 15 minutes after the restart when Joe Snowdon fired low into the far corner from Gavin Kilkenny’s cross.
Drinan then nodded in from a corner in the 76th minute.
However, League Two’s top scorer Drinan saved his best until last as he tangled with a defender for a loose ball before unfurling the audacious chip to make it four in the 86th minute.
Bolton boss Steven Schumacher said: “We didn’t deserve anything. This is a wake-up call.
“We got beaten by a team that were better than us, that wanted it more. Today was rubbish.”
